Experience the excitement of helicopter flying with a day designed to inspire, challenge, and build your confidence. Whether you're considering our modular training course or simply want to see what it’s like to take the controls, this is the perfect introduction to the world of helicopter aviation.
Your day begins at 10am at your chosen base (subject to availability), where you’ll be welcomed by one of our fantastic flight instructors—your dedicated pilot for the day. After a safety and pre-flight briefing, it’s time to take to the skies for your first 1-hour flight.
Following your flight, enjoy a break for lunch and the chance to ask questions, reflect on your experience, and prepare for the next session. Then it’s back in the air for your second 1-hour flight, giving you more time on the controls and a chance to build on what you’ve learned.
Depending on weather and operational factors, your flight route may include a landaway destination or will take place over the scenic landscapes of Leicestershire or Oxfordshire.
The full experience can last up to 6 hours, including briefings, pre-flight preparations, and flying time. Whether you're taking the first step toward a new career or just ticking off a bucket list dream, this unforgettable day is a great way to discover what flying a helicopter is all about.

If you're joining us to explore whether our modular training course is right for you, your Flight Discovery Day is a great place to start. In the days following your experience, you’ll receive further information about the course and the next steps.
You’ll have hands-on time at the controls of a Cabri G2 helicopter, and your flight hours from the day can be officially logged. If you don’t already have a pilot logbook, we’ll provide one for you.

On our exclusive VIP tour you will spend approximately 20 minutes in the helicopter and have the choice between taking flight over Leicestershire’s picturesque countryside and village sights or sightseeing around the city of Leicester.
If you choose to take the more scenic route you will head out of our Leicester Airport base catching a glimpse of the city before taking in breathtaking views of the south, east and north-east Leicestershire villages.
Depending on weather and wind conditions on the day, the areas covered will be selected from the areas between Leicester Airport, Market Harborough, Oakham and Melton Mowbray.
If you’re a sports fanatic you may prefer to take in the sights of the city as your pilot will point out landmarks including the Leicester Tigers’ Welford Road Stadium, Leicester Racecourse and Leicestershire Country Cricket Club.
As well as sporting landmarks you will notice the unique structure that is the National Space Centre, along with Abbey Pumping Station and several shopping centres including Highcross and Fosse Park.
You'll receive a bottle of fizz to take away with you after your flight and photos can be taken before, during and after the flight. You'll have the choice to fly as a group of up to two or three passengers, however the cost includes hire of the full aircraft - this is an exclusive tour and you won’t be sharing the helicopter with other people.
Trial lessons are the best way for you to experience what it feels like to not only fly in, but also to have time on the controls in a helicopter. Whether it’s 15 minutes, 30 minutes or an hour, the thrill will be immense and this exhilarating experience may even have you hooked, wanting to fly more!
This makes the perfect gift for someone interested in flying, or for someone who wants to tick something off their bucket list. Flying a helicopter is like nothing else you will experience and really does provide a sense of awe.
